Some helpful lifehacks
This does not pertain to politics but it does relate to everyday stressors that we experience. Each day, we are exposed to various factors that can either make or break us, depending on how we handle it.
1. "Too much information"- Maybe it's time to take a step back from constantly checking facebook and Instagram. I often find myself in a bind because I'm either behind on cooking dinner, schoolwork, or caring for our puppy and then I'll check my facebook to even further distract myself. What friends from back home are doing should not be on my mind when I already have other tasks to do.
2. "Pressure to succeed in life"- This reminds me of the term "FOMO" or fear of missing out. People should keep to themselves and realize the different ways success is measured. Staying in your own lane and focussing on one goal at a time can really be helpful when trying to get ahead.
3. "Career Pressures" Everyone wants to get ahead in their career for their own reasoning. Perhaps they want to start something new or they simply must bring home a paycheck to support their family. However, they must realize that stress takes a toll on their body and affects the way they work.
4. "National Concerns"- It's normal for people to worry about the future. The fear of the unknown is common-- but we must relax ourselves and understand that we cannot control everything.
5. "Body Image"-- This is an issue that is near and dear to my heart, as I struggled with it for years. The article states that more than 3,300 women in Australia would rather have a disease than become "Fat and old". This is sad-- we must not take our health for granted. Though media often portrays the ideal "health" in the form of someone thin and youthful, we must remind ourselves that skinny does not always equal healthy. A balanced diet and exercise can prevent diseases while also keeping us happy with ourselves.
